What companies invested in Bitcoin?



Bitcoin has been on trend for quite a while now. It recently peaked above the $58,000 mark before showing a dip of nearly 20%. Despite the volatility, it has shown in the past few days and over the years, investors continue to show faith in bitcoin.

 Acceptance for Bitcoin continues to grow since the electric automaker announced it would start accepting payment in Bitcoin in the future. The list of investors continues to grow every day.

Tesla

Recently the electric automaker announced it has invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoin and it may start accepting cryptocurrency for payment in the near future. 

Following this announcement prices of Bitcoin went soaring from $39,000 to $48,000 in just a few hours. It fueled the rally of Bitcoin towards new all-time highs.

PayPal

Paypal announced its entry into the cryptocurrency market last year. It said crypto coins can be used to buy things from the sellers which accepted PayPal. 

It also said it may accept Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. This announcement caused the bitcoin prices to soar. The company further said all cryptocurrencies can be stored in a digital wallet.

MasterCard

MasterCard announced that it will start supporting select cryptocurrencies over its network in the latter part of the year. Raj Dhamodharan, an executive vice president at MasterCard said "Our philosophy on cryptocurrencies is straightforward". 

Mastercard isn't here to recommend you to start using cryptocurrencies. But we are here to enable customers, merchants, and businesses to move to a digital value-traditional or crypto however they want." he wrote in the post.

Square

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's credit and payments firm has invested $170 million in Bitcoin. The company purchased about 3,318 bitcoins at an average price of $51,236. 

Square previously purchased $50 million worth of Bitcoin. "By us owning Bitcoin, our incentives are aligned with skin in the game", Dorsey said on post earnings conference call with analysts.

Many more companies are on the list which may start accepting Bitcoin in near future.
